Who Are You?
Life is a series of choices, many we face with everyday. Most are simple: “Do I want eggs or pancakes?” “Do I take the freeway or the back roads?” These types of decisions fuel everyday life and we never think of them, such fleeting decisions as they are. The big choices are the ones that matter.
“Do I take this risk or not?”
“Do I invest this money, or save it for later?”
YOU must decide if it will pay off for you and if it will be worth it in the end.
It took me a long time to realize that though these choices can be obvious, though the opportunity may be so obviously ingenious to me it made me think everyone in the world would jump on board. But, there are those that just won’t no matter how incredible it is. Some will remain on their path, and a very few will jump at the chance. I then began to realize that for the world to work — this is how the system must flow. If everyone joined a Direct Sales company who would fly the planes? Who would do all that boring math? How would bridges get built? So, we have to understand that not everyone will jump in, because they can’t, won’t, never will…
Are you a Follower?
Will you work diligently and stand hand in hand with your fellows, keeping the world turning and keeping your Leaders moving? The world is filled with Followers, they are the engineers, the sales associates, the construction workers. A Follower keeps customers happy, he keeps the gears turning. Nearly everyone you know is a Follower, because only a small percentage can be Leaders. Its fine to be a Follower, in fact Followers are more important than Leaders in many ways, for they are the true body of the workforce.
Are you a Leader?
Will you bring a group together — a working functioning business to stand the test of time? Are you the entrepreneur who risks life and limb for a company he believes in? Leaders know how Followers function, and a Leader knows how to bring them together into an efficient work force. Leaders are a part of the team as much as anyone else, they are but a figurehead; a spokesperson who can help direct a team and point them in the right path. Leaders arent born, but made, developing a special set of skills when called upon. They step up to the plate and take charge.
The difficult thing is to decide who you are and how YOU will interact with others. For some, the preferable path is to work their skill set job for the rest of their lives, and for others their path is to take risks and go out and build those jobs. To create lasting companies and lead them.
Without Followers, Leaders can do nothing. Followers must be there or the direction of their Leader is for nothing, falling upon deaf ears and those that do not exist. And yet Followers cannot exist without Leaders, for there must always be the one to take the initiative and provide direction and organization.
We must have Leaders and we must have Followers.
